Genital Warts

Posted in
Women are unique in many ways. At the most fundamental level, women’s bodies are structured to give birth of baby and supply early nutrition to the next generation. One of the many diseases that can cause some problems in women’s reproduction system is Genital Warts.

Genital warts are one of the most common sexually transmissible infections (STIs). They are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). There are more than 100 strains of HPV, but only few of them affect the genitals. Genital Warts can appear around the genitals or, sometimes, inside the vagina, rectum or urethra.

Common Symptoms of Genital Warts are flesh-colored, soft-to-the-touch bumps on the skin that may look like the surface of a cauliflower. Genital Warts often grow in more than one place and may cluster in large masses. They usually are painless, but they may itch.

Let’s talk about Genital Warts and Pregnancy. Women who have genital warts can have healthy pregnancies. But a pregnant woman should tell her health care provider if she's ever had genital warts. So she can get any treatment she might need. Genital Warts sometimes grow more quickly during pregnancy. This can result in serious medical conditions for the newborn, such as problems with breathing and severe.
